The Positive Pack

The Positive Pack aims to improve the welfare of dogs experiencing mild behavioural problems by providing behaviourally minded dog walks in and around South Manchester. By applying an existing knowledge of canine behaviour and the science of learning, behaviour is managed and resolved in an ethical manner. Aversive techniques and equipment such as prong collars and choke leads are completely avoided.

Myself and members of The Positive Pack are DBS checked annually and fully insured. Ask to see my certificates at the initial consultation!

Why Choose The Positive Pack?
  • A background in animal behaviour allows me to specialise in dogs with mild behaviour problems, such as reactivity or anxiety.
  • A free initial consultation allows for the behaviour to be properly assessed, and a mutually agreeable plan to be created.
  • Walks and visits are tailored to the individual dogs needs, and each dog is given an independent behavioural modification program to work through where nessesairy.
  • All interactions are free from force, coercion, dominance and punishment based techniques, so you can be assured that your dogs welfare is paramount.
  • Group walks operate on a 'known buddy' system. Dogs are paired with others who are compatible in terms of behaviour and temperament and are able to form long term relations with these buddies. Introductions are slow and supervised, and dogs are not suddenly swapped between groups.
  • A maximum of 4 dogs on a group walk allows for responsible walking and minimises stress to dogs.
  • Group walks are tracked using a GPS app and uploaded daily to the Facebook group so you can see their adventures.
  • Biodegradable poo bags and a policy of picking up at least 1 poo per dog (irrespective of whether it's actually theirs!) makes the Positive Pack an environmentally responsible option.
Walk Availability
Solo or group walks can be arranged between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday, and on special request at weekends.
Dogs will be picked up from their home, walked at a nearby park or wild space and dropped back home again. Walks will be designed to be as stimulating as possible for your dog while meeting their specific requirements.

Dogs with challenging behaviour won't be able to join group walks, and may need training and solo walks until the behaviour is more manageable.

Prices
Pack Walks (1 hour) - £10.00 per dog.
Discounts for multi-dog households.

Solo Walk (30 mins)- £12.00
                  (45 mins)-£15.00

Private Field
Subject to availability your dog can be walked by The Positive Pack on a private field in Alderley Edge (part of The Positive Herd Project). If your dog is extremely dog or person reactive it may be beneficial to book the field for their training session or walk to ensure they don’t run into any other dogs or people.
