About meAs my mum was a riding instructor I grew up around horses, learning to ride not long after I could walk. I've always been fascinated with them and endeavoured to learn as much as I could. My journey has taken me from traditional BHS practises and riding school ponies, to all aspects of natural horsemanship and 'dominance reduction' training. I've competed in one day events, tried my hand at dressage, and flown falconry from horseback at medieval reenactments. My experience is vast and extremely varied.
After an emotional journey trying to train a deeply traumatised horse I discovered the study of equine behaviour, and it changed my entire perspective. Since then I have endeavoured to pursue the most ethical and science based methods of horse training, riding and management that I possibly can. One of my strengths is focussing on the horse-human relationship, and the emotional state of both the horse and their owner. Dealing with difficult behaviour can have a profound effect on the horse owner, and helping people heal and move through this is of uttermost importance. |
